Hire a Python Consultant
Hire a Python consultant for backend architecture, APIs, data pipelines, automation, and code review — senior, pragmatic, ex-CTO. Django/DRF, PostgreSQL, and AI. Remote, IST.
If you want to hire a Python consultant who’s shipped real systems rather than slide decks, that’s me. I’m Kuldeep Pisda — a senior software engineer and former startup CTO in Bengaluru with 6+ years building production Python: web backends, APIs, data plumbing, and lately AI systems on top.
Where I help
- Backend architecture — service boundaries, data models, and the pragmatic call between a monolith and something more complex (usually: don’t over-engineer it yet).
- APIs — Django REST Framework and FastAPI, designed around what clients actually need, documented and versioned.
- PostgreSQL — the database as a first-class concern: query performance, indexing, and correctness in the schema, not hopeful application code.
- Automation and integrations — the scripts, pipelines, and third-party syncs that quietly run a business, made reliable instead of held together with tape.
- AI/LLM features — agents, RAG, and semantic search when they genuinely solve the problem, on infrastructure that can carry them.
- Code review and mentoring — a senior read on your codebase, and levelling up the team that maintains it.
How I work
Direct and pragmatic. I lead with constraints and trade-offs, always name a simpler alternative, and flag the scaling or security concern you didn’t ask about. Short, well-scoped engagements with a written plan and testable milestones — a project, a retainer, or a focused review. Remote, IST, US/EU overlap.
Experience you’re hiring
You can read my Python before you hire it — I publish on PyPI.
pay_ccavenue handles the CCAvenue payment
gateway’s AES encryption handshake and typed webhook parsing, with releases
published automatically from CI. getchi is chi, an open-source
autoresearch harness that points a fleet of LLM coding agents at a problem with a
programmatic evaluator and lets them iterate unattended — append-only run store,
hard budget caps, a watchdog for stuck agents. Both are built the way I build for
clients: typed throughout, tested, and shipped as maintained releases rather than
scripts. That sits on top of consulting work that’s taken products from zero to
production and from internal tool to whitelabel SaaS — the
case studies show it — and I speak at DjangoCon and EuroPython.
FAQ
Just Python, or Django too? Both — Django/DRF is my home turf, but I also do FastAPI and plain-Python backend and data work.
Can you review our codebase without a big engagement? Yes — a fixed-scope architecture or code review is a common, low-commitment starting point.
Do you do data pipelines and automation? Yes — ETL, scheduled jobs, and integration plumbing, made observable and reliable.
What does it cost? A second opinion is $500 — one 90-minute call on a specific decision, with a written recommendation within 48 hours. An architecture or performance audit is $4,000: ranked written findings in 7 calendar days plus a 60-minute walkthrough, and the fee credits toward any retainer or build started within 60 days. Ongoing advisory is $2,000/month — two 60-minute calls plus async review of up to 4 design docs or PRs. All prices in USD plus GST where applicable, and you get the cost in writing before we start.
International clients? Yes — remote, IST, with regular US and EU overlap.
