Hire a Remote Django Developer

Hire a remote Django developer who ships async — production DRF APIs, PostgreSQL, and clean handoffs across time zones. Senior, ex-CTO, IST with US/EU overlap.

Want to hire a remote Django developer who’s actually good at remote — clear writing, async by default, and no need to be babysat? That’s how I’ve worked for years. I’m Kuldeep Pisda, a senior backend engineer and former startup CTO in Bengaluru who builds production Django and PostgreSQL systems for teams around the world.

What I bring to a remote team

The remote track record

Remote isn’t an adjustment for me — it’s the shape of the career: a founding-engineer role on a US live-events platform, a fractional-CTO seat at an Indian non-profit, and consulting for teams across time zones, all run from Bengaluru (IST) with overlap windows committed up front rather than vague promises of flexibility. My default working style is written: every engagement starts with a written plan, audits end in a written findings document, and decisions get recorded when they’re made — how I run engagements spells it out. This site is that habit in public: the case studies are real engagements documented decision by decision, which is exactly the async, self-explaining delivery you’d get inside your team. I also speak at DjangoCon US, DjangoCon Europe, and EuroPython — so a fair amount of how I work has been defended on a stage.

How engagements work

Fixed-scope projects, ongoing retainers, or a few hours of architecture review — with a written plan and testable milestones. Remote-first and async-friendly by default.

FAQ

Which time zones do you cover? IST, with regular overlap into US and EU hours. I’ll commit to specific overlap windows up front.

Do you work solo or in a team? Both — as a senior IC inside an existing team, or as the backend owner on a small project.

Contract or long-term? Either. Some clients want a defined project; others keep me on retainer as the backend grows.

What does it cost? Builds start with a $4,000 audit of the existing system — written findings with ranked fixes in 7 calendar days plus a 60-minute walkthrough — then I quote the build in writing, crediting the audit fee if we start within 60 days. A second opinion on a specific decision is $500: one 90-minute call and a written recommendation within 48 hours. Prices are in USD plus GST where applicable, and the cost is always in writing before we start.

Can you work with our existing codebase and tools? Yes — most of my work is improving and scaling existing Django apps, and I fit into your Git/CI/PM workflow rather than imposing mine.

Where are you based? Bengaluru, India — see hire a Django developer in India for the location-specific version.
